Miller & Associates partnered with the City of Lexington to design and deliver the Northwest Phase II extension of the community’s Hike/Bike Trail within the Optimist Recreation Complex. The project was led by our team to expand the existing trail network, improve connectivity, and provide a safe, accessible outdoor space for residents.

The design included approximately 4,600 square yards of 6-inch-thick Portland Cement Concrete trail, carefully planned to accommodate pedestrian and bicycle traffic while ensuring long-term durability and minimal maintenance. In addition to the trail improvements, stormwater infrastructure was incorporated into the project, including the installation of 500 linear feet of 24-inch reinforced concrete pipe to effectively manage drainage and protect the integrity of the trail.

Miller & Associates provided full construction engineering services, overseeing quality control, safety, and compliance throughout the construction process. The completed trail extension enhances recreational opportunities within the Optimist Recreation Complex and supports the City’s continued investment in accessible, high-quality outdoor amenities.
