Miller & Associates contributed to the planning and development of a state-of-the-art stadium and athletic field complex designed to support collegiate-level competition and training. Serving the University of Nebraska at Kearney’s outdoor track and field program, the facility was designed to meet the demands of high-performance athletics while also accommodating a wide range of events and user groups.
The complex integrates competition and practice spaces into a cohesive layout, maximizing functionality and flexibility. The stadium features a synthetic turf multi-sport infield and an eight-lane track, complemented by a full suite of field event amenities to support track and field competitions. Specialized areas were designed for events including pole vault, long jump, triple jump, shot put, discus, hammer throw, and javelin.
Beyond the primary competition venue, the site includes additional practice fields for football and soccer, creating a versatile training environment. The broader master plan expands recreational and athletic opportunities with planned tennis courts, softball fields, and a baseball field. Throughout the project, emphasis was placed on durability, performance, and the ability to host regional and collegiate events.
