Miller & Associates has partnered with the City of Atwood for over two decades to evaluate, improve, and expand its wastewater system. Early efforts identified aging infrastructure, hydraulic limitations, and significant groundwater infiltration within the collection system, leading to a series of targeted improvements to support long-term system performance.

Initial upgrades included a $2.3 million wastewater treatment facility improvement project, funded through USDA-Rural Development, featuring lagoon enhancements that continue to meet permit requirements today. Building on this foundation, Miller & Associates completed a system-wide evaluation using Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) inspection and developed a phased rehabilitation plan. Improvements included approximately 35,000 linear feet of Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) lining, point repairs, manhole improvements, and installation of a new lift station and force main.

More recently, Miller & Associates has supported the City’s continued growth by extending wastewater service to new development areas, including Greason Industrial Park and a residential subdivision. These improvements included over 5,000 linear feet of new sewer mains, 25 manholes, and a new submersible lift station—positioning the community for future expansion while maintaining reliable service.
