Northwest High Outdoor Athletic Facilities

Grand Island, NE

Miller & Associates provided civil engineering and site design services for the Grand Island Northwest High School Outdoor Athletic Facilities Project. The project established a cohesive layout to support future athletic improvements while enhancing site functionality and safety.

Miller & Associates partnered with Grand Island Northwest High School to develop a comprehensive site design framework for its outdoor athletic facilities. The project focused on creating a functional and flexible layout to support new football and soccer fields while improving overall site performance and long-term usability.

Our team prepared conceptual site layouts and grading plans that balanced field orientation, drainage, and circulation to maximize efficiency and safety. A detailed stormwater evaluation was completed to assess existing conditions and develop drainage solutions that effectively manage runoff and protect the site from flooding and erosion.

In addition to grading and drainage design, Miller & Associates coordinated conduit routing and site lighting infrastructure to support current and future facility needs. The team also prepared a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) in compliance with Nebraska Department of Water, Energy, and Environment (NDWEE) and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) requirements.

During construction, our team provided observation services to help ensure the project was implemented in accordance with the design intent. The completed project provides a strong foundation for continued athletic facility development, improving circulation, safety, and usability for students and visitors.
