Optimist Complex Expansion

Miller & Associates assisted the City of Lexington with master planning for the expansion of the Lexington Optimist Complex. The plan supports growth in soccer programming with new competition fields, practice areas, and supporting amenities.

Miller & Associates worked with the City of Lexington to develop a comprehensive master plan for the expansion of the Lexington Optimist Complex, addressing the community’s growing demand for soccer facilities. The project focused on creating a functional, flexible layout that accommodates both competitive play and increased practice needs for youth and adult programs.

The master plan included the development of two new competition soccer fields, supported by a concession and restroom facility and spectator seating. In addition, five practice fields were incorporated into the design to provide adequate space for training and league play, helping to reduce scheduling conflicts and improve overall field conditions.

Site improvements such as grading, seeding, and irrigation were carefully planned to ensure long-term field performance and maintainability. The layout also enhanced circulation and accessibility by incorporating additional parking between the existing ball field complex and new soccer fields, creating a more cohesive and user-friendly recreational environment.

The resulting plan provides the City with a strategic roadmap for phased development, supporting continued growth and investment in the community’s recreational infrastructure.
