Swimming Pools

About

At Miller & Associates, our engineering team helps communities plan, design, and deliver aquatic facilities that are safe, efficient, and designed to last. From initial planning and concept through construction, we partner with local leaders to create pools and improve aquatic facilities that support recreation, programming, and community engagement while aligning with long-term goals and available funding.

Our team provides comprehensive engineering support throughout each phase of the project. We assist with site selection and feasibility, develop concept layouts, and advance designs that address hydraulics, water quality systems, grading, drainage, and utility coordination. We work closely with architects and aquatic specialists to ensure all components are fully integrated and designed for reliable, efficient operation.

We also support permitting and regulatory coordination, helping communities navigate health department requirements and applicable standards with clarity and confidence. During construction, we provide bidding assistance and construction observation to help keep projects on track and ensure the final facility reflects the design intent.

Our approach emphasizes coordination, practicality, and long-term performance, delivering aquatic facilities that are easy to maintain, cost-effective to operate, and built to serve communities for years.

Miller & Associates worked with the City of Stromsburg to develop a new municipal swimming pool and bathhouse designed to serve as a long-term recreational asset for the community. Located at Buckley Park, just west of the former pool site, the project was driven by the need to replace aging infrastructure with a modern, safe, and efficient facility.

The project began with detailed planning, assessments, and stakeholder coordination to evaluate community needs, operational considerations, and long-term sustainability. These efforts guided the development of a facility that balances recreational amenities with practical design solutions that support ease of operation and maintenance.

The new aquatics facility was designed to accommodate a wide range of users, from young children to lap swimmers, incorporating features that promote both recreation and safety. The bathhouse was thoughtfully designed to meet ADA requirements and serve multiple functions, including locker rooms, showers, and park-access restrooms that also support nearby campground users.

Throughout design and construction, Miller & Associates focused on delivering a facility that meets current regulatory requirements while prioritizing durability, operational efficiency, and user experience. The completed project provides a high-quality community amenity that supports recreation, accessibility, and quality of life in Stromsburg for years to come.
